It seems that Cooper Kupp's remarkable journey with the Los Angeles Rams is nearing its end. In a recent social media post on Monday, Kupp revealed that the Rams informed him they are looking to trade him and will work with him to find the best destination for his future.
Kupp wrote in his post: "I don’t agree with this decision, and I’ve always believed my career would begin and end in Los Angeles." He added, "However, if there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that there are many things outside of your control, but how you respond to those things is what you will remember in the future."
Kupp also expressed his pride in playing alongside his teammates for the Los Angeles community, saying: "It’s been one of the best training camps of my career in 2024. Preparations for 2025 start now. I’m motivated, healthier than ever, and looking forward to playing elite football for years to come."
Kupp, 31, was a key figure in the Rams’ 2021 championship season, winning the Super Bowl LVI MVP. He was named the AP Offensive Player of the Year in 2021 after winning the receiving Triple Crown, with 145 receptions, 1,947 yards, and 16 touchdowns.
However, injuries have affected his performance in recent years. He played 9 games in 2022, 12 in 2023, and 12 in 2024. In the 2024 season, he had 67 receptions for 710 yards and 6 touchdowns, and added 6 catches for 90 yards in the postseason.
Kupp is under contract through 2026, with a cap number of $29.8 million for 2025.
A third-round pick in 2017, Kupp was one of the first players drafted by the Rams under head coach Sean McVay. Kupp has accumulated 634 career receptions, 7,776 yards, and 57 touchdowns. He ranks third on the franchise’s all-time list for receptions and receiving touchdowns, and fourth for receiving yards.
